It's the individuals who suffer, those with the least power. Nobody who lives in the U.S. or Canada and comments online using a computer has any room to talk about some powerless underdog needing a conscience. Just sayin'.

It sounds like there sending the poor locals out to do the clean up instead of the company that caused the spill.

China has four time the population of the entire USA.
Michigan has an oil spill of 800,000 gallons. China's government has said 461,790 gallons of oil spilled after a pipeline exploded.
China should be able to have a much bigger spill if they want to match us here.

With over a billion people you can afford to clean it up using the bodies of peasants. Plenty more where they came from.

China is a lot like Russia and Mexico - their laws as written look great, but the corruption totally undermines the law, common sense, and all morality!

It has been said before China's labor force is expendable, to bad that the people there have to work in such poor conditions.

China's downfall is that it has no consideration for its people when the profits of its nationalized industries are concern. Their government has a total disregard for the citizens, who are slaves to the governmental machinery, My hear goes out to those people who will die and suffer for years because their government considers them disposable labor.
